Retail Merchandising | New Store Opening
RMS supported Waitrose with the opening of its brand new Cricklewood supermarket on 22 October 2026, marking the retailer’s first new supermarket opening in eight years.
The 18,000 sq ft store, described by Waitrose as its ‘Home of Food Lovers’, represents an important milestone for the retailer, with RMS providing dedicated merchandising support in the final stages leading up to opening day.
Over a five day programme, RMS delivered 130 shifts across day and night teams, providing retail merchandising support to help prepare the new supermarket for its opening.
Working to a fixed opening deadline, RMS teams contributed to the final store preparations, helping ensure the new retail environment was ready to welcome customers.
Following the opening, RMS continued to support Waitrose at Cricklewood, providing over 500 additional hours of merchandising support during the store’s initial trading period.
The new Cricklewood supermarket successfully opened on Thursday 22 October 2026, receiving fantastic feedback.
The project highlights RMS’s ability to provide flexible merchandising resources around critical retail milestones, supporting retailers through both new store openings and the important trading period that follows.
