Our long standing Ireland office is well positioned to support our retail partners in a range of different sectors across Ireland. With an experienced team located throughout Ireland, this enables us to tackle projects of all shapes and sizes.
The Team
The Ireland division of RMS is a self-sufficient team that makes up between 5 to 10% of RMS’s overall workforce. The RMS team in Ireland are multi-skilled across all sectors, giving the teams the ability to work across all different retail sectors and allowing us a business to meet all retailer requirements.
A strong team working environment has been built in Ireland consisting of qualified SMSTS(Site Management Safety Training Scheme) staff and SEIRS qualified members, meaning that the right teams can be allocated to projects based on skills, experience and location.
The day-to-day operational running of the business is controlled by the Ireland team from the Ireland office. This is beneficial for the operational efficiency within RMS but also for our clients, as at times there can be challenges due to geographical locations in Ireland and we have the insight on how to overcome such challenges and can plan accordingly to reduce any risk to a project.
Being a close team who usually work in the same teams each week, there is a real sense of comradery and supportive, friendly nature that extends beyond just working relationships. The ethos of teamwork and a supportive culture is continuously demonstrated by the teams in Ireland, with individuals often willing to travel long distances to support projects when the workload is high in the UK.
Projects
Ireland has seen many large projects over the years, including full renovations and installations for clients among all retail sectors. In Ireland, the teams tend to spend their time equally across grocery and DIY retail clients. However, the health and beauty sector is growing in Ireland, with strong relationships being maintained and extensive projects being carried out such as store openings and renovations.
This year saw the end of an intensive four year “store transformation project” with one of our DIY partners. The programme consisted of 35 stores each taking around 12 weeks to complete on a back-to-back programme.
The team delivered outstanding results but it was a challenging project as we had had to demerch, dismantle, erect and install new HD racking across each entire store, internally and externally. It was all completed while the store continued to trade, to minimise any loss in sales for the client. Through careful planning and the experience of our Site Manager and teams, each store was delivered within the planned time frame.
