RMS is supporting Boots with the delivery of its Accelerator programme, a multi site retail transformation project designed to create greater consistency across the Boots store estate.
With stores varying significantly in age, size and format, the programme is helping to establish a more consistent customer experience, bringing departments, displays and product ranges in line with the latest Boots standards.
RMS has completed more than 20 stores as part of the programme so far in 2026, with further locations planned as the rollout continues.
The Boots estate includes a wide variety of retail environments, from large high street stores to smaller and more complex locations.
Each store therefore presents different requirements in terms of programme, team size, product ranges and delivery.
Projects range from 1 to 4 weeks depending on store size, with RMS teams typically consisting of between 5 and 10 colleagues.
Alongside the variation between individual locations, the scale of the programme has required RMS to rapidly increase delivery capacity while maintaining consistent standards across every project.
RMS teams work across multiple departments within each store, carrying out extensive merchandising and relay activity to bring existing layouts in line with the required Boots specification.
The programme has included work across:
The scope touches almost every area of the store and has also supported the introduction of approximately 20 to 30 new product ranges, with the range selection adapted according to individual store size and format.
While the programme is predominantly focused on merchandising and relaying existing fixtures, RMS has also provided some installation support where required in larger stores, including the installation and repositioning of gondolas.
One of the key challenges has been the increase in the volume of stores being delivered as part of the programme.
RMS has responded by scaling its teams and coordinating resources across a diverse range of locations, while ensuring colleagues are equipped to meet new project reporting requirements.
This flexibility allows the programme to adapt to the individual needs of each store while maintaining the consistency Boots is seeking across its wider estate.
More than 20 Boots stores have been completed by RMS so far this year. Through detailed merchandising, product range implementation and targeted installation support, RMS is helping Boots create greater continuity across its stores and a more consistent experience for customers.
With further locations planned, RMS continues to support the Accelerator programme as it progresses across the Boots estate.
