Student Placement at RMS: Supporting MBA Global Students from University of South Wales
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming two MBA (Master of Business Administration) Global students from the University of South Wales to the RMS team for a 6 month student placement. The placement gives the students the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in a real working environment and the chance to apply all the knowledge they have developed during their studies.
Rafiana Khanom and Rajat Kheri are studying for their MBA Global qualification. Whilst on their placement with RMS, they have both worked closely with members of the RMS team to help them find and develop their unique business skills and interests.
When interviewing the students they said they chose to work at RMS for its innovation, growth and flexibility.
Since being at RMS the students have both learnt and developed many different skills. Rajat said: “I have learnt how to make complex problems more simple through combined efforts of teamwork and asking for help. This has helped me when coming across a problem or a challenge so that I can overcome the challenge and not feel overwhelmed.”
Rafiana has spent a lot of time with the People and HR team and has developed her skills to be able to understand how to operate data and communicate her findings in a professional manner, which will be key to her roles in the future.
Both students have highlighted the people at RMS saying they feel surrounded by ‘supportive’ and ‘talented’ staff. This has encouraged them to push themselves out of their comfort zone and to give their best performance when in the workplace.
“The internship has been exactly what I was expecting and what I wanted from my placement at RMS. I have been pleased to have the opportunity to venture into different parts of the business, to explore what I am best at. I started my placement in the project and logistics department and have since moved to the business intelligence team where I have been thriving in tasks such as visual data representation which really helps the RMS team to easily analyse and interpret important data.” Rajat Kheri.
When asked about their future career aspirations the students both showed great enthusiasm to carry on their journey at RMS after their placement. They both expressed utilising all training facilities to better themselves going forward and to bring new innovations to the business. Rajat is undertaking Price 2, agile and PMP certificates which will really benefit his abilities and skills in the workplace.
The team at RMS have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming both Rajat and Rafiana during their placement and we are thrilled with the contributions they have made to the business. It has been a pleasure working with them both and seeing them grow in confidence and skill, we look forward to seeing what the future holds for them both!
