Two New Retail Partners
RMS is delighted to add more big-name brands to our growing list of retail partners. Since October 2019, we’ve been working closely with Homebase & Jewson, two of the UK’s leading DIY retailers, supporting them on key, in-store projects.
Delivering a Quality Service to Transform Stores
Homebase, which has been operating for over 40 years is currently undergoing a major store refurbishment and transformation project. This includes opening new smaller city-centre stores as part of its strategy to re-establish its position within the home improvements sector under new owners, Hilco who purchased the brand in 2018.
RMS has supported Homebase with kitchen display removal, racking relocation and merchandising to aid them in the revamp of their new and existing kitchen and bathroom ranges.
Saint-Gobain are revamping the older Jewson stores in order to enhance the customer experience. As a Saint-Gobain brand, Jewson is part of one of the largest construction businesses in the world – designing, manufacturing and distributing construction materials, and delivering innovative products and services with tomorrow in mind.
Since October 2019, we have worked in several Jewson stores, fitting them out entirely and providing a complete merchandising service. We have been an integral part of the project team, developing the timeline and milestones for the overall delivery of the project. We provided an installation team to fit the racks and gondolas in accordance with the plan and budget. The final step was to provide merchandising support to work in conjunction with the POS team to stock the stores and ensure that they were ready to trade.
In addition to providing our retail merchandising and store support service, carried out by our experienced teams, we’ve also been assisting these retailers with their format-based projects, which has involved transforming the look and feel of their stores.
RMS have supplied teams who have either SEIRS (Storage Equipment Installers Registration Scheme) or SEIRS supervisor qualifications on multi-discipline sites run by a Principal Contractor.
Continuing our Great Work in the DIY Sector
RMS have a long track record of success within the DIY sector, having been the principle merchandising and retail support partner for B&Q, part of the Kingfisher Group for over 10 years. As well as merchandising services, we’ve provided B&Q with Project Management support for new store openings, concept stores & reformat work. During 2019, we delivered a 99.76% first time attendance rate across 5,139 shifts, demonstrating the reliability and dedication of our teams.
RMS have also worked with Woodies, one of Ireland’s leading DIY retailers for the past 4 years. We provide store support to Woodies, in addition to racking installation, general and festive merchandising.
Developing from Within
RMS is committed to investing in the skills of our teams and already in 2020, we’ve been upskilling to ensure that we are ready for future legislative requirements. During January, 14 of our highest qualified people have undertaken the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS). This is a CITB accredited and industry recognised course providing companies who need to meet the ever-increasing demands for evidence of health and safety compliance with all the relevant knowledge to meet today's legislative demands.
Meeting Every Need
Commenting on the appointment of RMS by Homebase and Jewson, Daniel O’Toole, Chief Executive of RMS said: “RMS have been working in the DIY sector for over 10 years and during that time, we’ve built sector expertise and long standing partnerships with our retail partners.
